Am I Eligible for My Service?

Choosing to invest in a beauty service - especially one that's semi-permanent or permanent - is a big step, and it's important that we make sure it's the right one for you. There are certain health conditions, medications, and skin types that can affect how your body responds to treatments like nanoblading, lip blushing, or tattoos.
This doesn't mean you can't receive a service- it just means we need to make informed choices together. Think of this page as a guide to help you understand the "why" behind eligibility and what factors we'll consider when booking your appointment. Our top priority is always your safety and satisfaction, and we'll never recommend something that could put either at risk.
Nanoblading
Nanoblading is one of the most advanced techniques in the world of permanent makeup, and for good reason. Unlike traditional microblading, which uses a manual blade to create hair-like strokes, nanoblading utilizes a digitally controlled machine and ultra-fine needles that allow for more precision and flexibility. This method is considered safer for a wide range of skin types - including sensitive, oily, or mature skin.
Another benefit? Nanoblading offers better pigment retention in clients with deeper skin tones. Because of how the machine deposits pigment, the results are more consistent and vibrant over time, reducing the chances of patchiness or uneven fading. It's a beautiful, customizable option for anyone seeking long-lasting, natural-looking brows.
That said, nanoblading is still a form of tattooing, which means certain factors can make it unsafe or less effective. I do not perform this service on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding due to potential risks related to pigment absorption, healing, and hormonal changes. Clients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or those who have recently had facial plastic surgery or abrasive dermalogical/esthetic treatments (like chemical peels or microneedling), will need to wait before booking. The integrity of your skin and immune system plays a huge role in healing - so we want to work with your skin, not against it.
Lash Extensions
Lash extensions are a beautiful way to enhance your natural features with minimal daily effort. The lashes we use are soft, lightweight, and tailored to suit your unique eye shape and lash health. Applied correctly, they do not damage your natural lashes and can actually help you avoid mascara buildup and rubbing, which contributes to lash breakage.
However, it's important to understand the role of adhesive. I use a high-quality, medical-grade adhesive - but as with any cosmetic product, there is a risk of allergic reaction, especially in clients with sensitivities. If you've experienced excessive eye irritation, swelling, or redness in the past from tape adhesives, glues, or specific skincare products, we may want to schedule a patch test prior to your appointment. It's crucial to indicate any allergies on your client intake form!
Skin Conditions, Medications, Preventative Measures
Your health and skin history play an essential role in how your body responds to any beauty service, especially permanent makeup. Certain medical conditions - especially those that affect your immune system, blood circulation, or skin barrier - can increase your risk of poor healing, infection, or pigment rejection.
For example, if you're currently on Accutane or have used it within the last 6-12 months, your skin is likely too fragile for tattooing or exfoliating services. Similarly, if you've had microneedling, laser treatments, or peels in the brow area, we'll want to allow time for your skin to fully heal before performing any waxing or permanent makeup services.
It's also important to disclose any autoimmune conditions, bleeding disorders, or history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring. These don't always rule out services, but they do require extra consideration and sometimes a doctor's clearance. Our goal is never to exclude anyone - it's to provide the safest, most beautiful result possible by working in harmony with your body.
