Prepping for your appointment doesn't have to feel overwhelming! Whether you're coming in for lash extensions, permanent makeup, or brow shaping, there are a few simple steps you can take to make sure we get the best possible results.
This page is your prep guide - what to avoid, what to bring, and what to expect before walking into the studio. When you arrive, we want you to feel calm, confident, and taken care of. So let's get you ready, beautiful!
Permanent Makeup Prep
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinners (including ibuprofen or aspirin) for at least 24 hours before your appointment. These can increase bleeding and sensitivity.
Don't come with makeup on or around your brows. We'll be cleansing the area thouroughly anyway, but clean skin gives us a fresh start.
Stop using retinol, AHAs, or any harsh exfoliants near the brow area at least one week before. These can thin the skin and lead to excess irritation.
If you've had Botox, chemical peels, or microneedling recently - wait. Ideally, you should space those 2-4 weeks apart from your PMU appointment.
No sunburns, breakouts, or active skin conditions near the brow area. Let your skin heal fully first so we can work on a calm, healthy canvas.
Come hydrated and well-rested. Yes, it makes a difference.
Lash Extensions Prep
Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes. No mascara, eyeliner, or oil-based products on or around the eyes. Those break down the adhesive and don't allow for a proper bond. The cleaner, the better the retention!
No caffeine before your appointment. It can make your eyes flutter and make it harder for you to relax.
Silence your phone and get comfy. Appointments can run anywhere from 1-2 hours, so dress cozy, bring some headphones and plan for a little nap or downtime. (Or therapy session).
Avoid waterproof mascara for at least 2 days before your appointment. It leaves behind residue even after cleansing.
Allergy concerns? Ask about a patch test. If you've ever reacted to adhesives or eye products, let's talk first.
Brow Shaping, Waxing & Tinting Prep
Avoid exfoliating or using retinol near the brows for at least 3 days before your appointment.
Don't tan or go sunbathing the day of or the day before. We want calm, non-sensitized skin for waxing or brow laminations!
Come with your brows in their natural state. Don't shave, trim, tweeze, or tint at home beforehand.
Avoid makeup around the area so we can clearly map and shape your brows. Provide pictures for a specific look you'd like to aim for!
Bonus: want your tint to last longer? Avoid excessive sweating and heavy cleansing for 24 hours after your service.
